Deportivo Alavés, managed by Quique Sánchez Flores, produced one of LaLiga’s most eye-catching revivals on matchday 29, winning 4-3 in Vigo after trailing by three.

According to Superdeporte, the result also lifts Alavés three points clear of the relegation places and underlines its rarity in Spanish football.

They reached half-time 3-1 down at Balaídos. Ángel Pérez began the fightback after the interval, Toni Martínez added his second of the game, and Rebbach struck on 78 minutes.

It is the ninth time in LaLiga history a team have overturned a three-goal deficit in one match. For Alavés, it is a first top-flight win from that position.

The previous instance of this kind came in 2005, when Athletic beat Osasuna 4-3.

The last identical precedent was Valencia’s 3-4 at the Camp Nou under Claudio Ranieri in 1997/98, turning 3-0 behind into victory in the final 20 minutes. Only Valencia, Atlético and Athletic Club have done it twice.
