Albacete have signed Munir El Haddadi to bolster their attack after Jefté Betancor joined UD Las Palmas. The move follows the arrival of Mario Soberón from Real Zaragoza for Alberto González's side.

According to Superdeporte, the 30-year-old forward arrives as a free agent after his stint in Iran with Esteghlal FC, where he scored four goals. He returns to Spain to strengthen Albacete at the Carlos Belmonte.

Munir is a versatile option, able to play on either wing or lead the line. This marks his first campaign in the Segunda División after spells with FC Barcelona, Valencia CF, Deportivo Alavés, Sevilla FC, Getafe CF, UD Las Palmas and CD Leganés.

He has 400 top-level appearances and European experience with FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC. His honours include the Europa League with Sevilla in 2020 and the Champions League with FC Barcelona in 2015.

Two European champions will now share the dressing room in La Mancha. Centre-back Jesús Vallejo arrived last season after leaving Real Madrid, bringing two Champions League medals from 2018 and 2022.

Munir's Valencia stint was turbulent. He joined late in the window on loan from FC Barcelona, unveiled as 'El nou nou' after Paco Alcácer moved the other way. In 16/17 he played 36 games, scored seven and supplied four assists under Pako Ayestarán, Voro and Prandelli.
