Sevilla are preparing Álex Costa’s loan move after Sevilla Atlético dropped to Segunda Federación, in line with a clause in his deal. With no guaranteed first-team role, the striker will continue his development away from Nervión.
According to La Colina De Nervion, his situation has sparked immediate interest, with up to 10 Primera RFEF clubs lodging formal proposals, and Greek sides also sounding out a move.
Even so, the Madrid-born forward is prioritising a LaLiga Hypermotion offer that would keep him in Spain’s second tier without leaving the peninsula.
Alejandro Costa Quijano progressed through Madrid academies at Leganés, Atlético Pinto and Las Rozas, then featured for Albacete’s reserves and CD Toledo. He broke through at SD Ponferradina in Primera RFEF, reaching double figures for goals and assists. That form prompted Sevilla to sign him in summer 2025 on a contract running to 2028.
A left-footed forward standing 1.89 metres, Costa is noted for his physical presence and hold-up play. He pins defenders in the box, links aerial balls and aids direct play, while pressing energetically and creating space for runners.
With pre-season under way, Sevilla will accelerate talks in the coming days to secure the most beneficial loan for player and club. His next destination will be known soon.
