Álex Jiménez has been left out of Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth squad for Saturday's Premier League match against Fulham after Instagram conversations with a 15-year-old emerged on social media.

In a statement, the club said it is aware of the posts concerning the right-back, understands the seriousness of the matter, is investigating, and will not comment further for now.

The exchange shows the Spaniard telling the teenager he had never been with a 15-year-old and saying he liked small girls. He later wrote that speaking to her had been a mistake and that he did not want trouble.

Jiménez previously came through the youth systems at Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Bournemouth published its statement on the club website.
