Alexis Duarte recovering from ACL at Santos, remains on loan at Libertad | OneFootball

Alexis Duarte is recovering from an ACL injury at Santos, though he remains on loan at Libertad until the end of the season. According to Diario Do Peixe, the centre-back asked to undergo treatment at the club and is using its medical facilities.

Short of opportunities, he was loaned out in late February. On his Libertad debut on the second of March, he started but came off 31 minutes into the second half of a 7-0 win over San Lorenzo at the Estadio Gunther Vogel in the Paraguayan league.

Libertad are paying half of his wages under the agreement. By law, if the deal ends before he has recovered, it will be renewed.

His only appearance for Santos this year came in the Série A opener. He was an unused substitute in the Paulistão clássico with Corinthians at Vila Belmiro and was not listed for eight other matches. Under then coach Vojvoda he had been first choice.

In 2023 he started against Red Bull Bragantino, Grêmio, Ceará and Palmeiras, and played half a match versus Botafogo. Signed from Spartak Moscow last year for $4 million, the defender, wearing number 23, is contracted to Santos until 2029 and has made six appearances. He has received Paraguay call-ups and made his Albirroja debut in November last year.
