Liverpool will welcome Chelsea at Anfield this Saturday afternoon as they look to secure a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Reds suffered a 3-2 loss away at Manchester United recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved showing this weekend.

Arne Slot will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Alisson Becker, Alexander Isak, and Milos Kerkez could all play from the start of this contest.

Defence

Alison Becker will feature in between the sticks for the Merseyside club as he looks to keep a clean sheet in his last appearance. Ibrahima Konate will function alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the field.

Curtis Jones will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Milos Kerkez looks to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Andy Robertson will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Alexis Mac Allister will anchor the midfield with Ryan Gravenberch as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park and engineering some inviting chances in the final third.

The talented trio of Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai will play just ahead of them as part of the Liverpool attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Reds are to secure a positive result this Saturday afternoon.

Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Alexander Isak will spearhead Liverpool’s attack up top. He has to figure out a way to be a constant menace on the offensive end of the field.

Federico Chiesa will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Reds are in need of a goal by then.
