Alisson will miss Brazil's friendly with France on 26 March after a muscle injury, a blow for Liverpool and Brazil with PSG v Liverpool under three weeks away.
The Brazilian federation announced that the 33-year-old, capped 76 times, is out of both March friendlies, against France on 26 March and Croatia on 1 April. He felt muscular discomfort during Wednesday's 4-0 last-16 second-leg win over Galatasaray in the Champions League, and no further detail was given.
Corinthians goalkeeper Hugo Souza has been called up by Carlo Ancelotti.
He will also sit out Brighton v Liverpool this Saturday. If his absence extends, it would be a major setback for the Reds given the schedule ahead.
After the international break, Liverpool face Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals on 4 April, then travel to PSG for the Champions League quarter-final first leg on 8 April. Alisson delivered an outstanding display on his last visit to the Parc in last season's last-16 first leg, which finished 0-1, so any prolonged lay-off would not be unwelcome in Paris.
