São Paulo midfielder Alisson visited Corinthians’ CT Joaquim Grava on Monday, with a proposed loan currently held up by a financial impasse at the club.
ge.globo first reported the visit. He has not signed a contract, completed medicals or trained with the squad, with talks yet to be finalised.
Corinthians are understood to have agreed headline figures but do not have R$ 1 million available upfront to meet São Paulo’s loan fee. The deal is valued at R$ 1.5 million, with the remainder due in the second half of the year, plus other targets and a purchase option, though the board is prioritising other payments.
These include an instalment from a new agreement with Toluca for the 2024 signing of Pedro Raul after arrears pushed that debt up by about R$ 18 million. The club are also seeking a solution over a roughly R$ 32 million liability to Talleres for Rodrigo Garro that could trigger another transfer ban, and must make the first instalment of the Regime Centralizado de Execuções, RCE, in March, worth 4% of February revenues.
Alisson, 32, would join on loan until the end of 2026 and is a request of coach Dorival Júnior, with whom he worked at São Paulo. If the move is completed, he cannot play in the Campeonato Paulista as he is already registered by São Paulo.
Corinthians have confirmed Gabriel Paulista, Matheus Pereira and Uruguayan right-back Pedro Milans. They also have advanced agreements with forward Kaio César of Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia and Fortaleza goalkeeper João Ricardo.
