AI has run the rule over ALL 72 EFL clubs' home atmosphere...

The phrase of supporters being the figurative 'twelfth man' certainly rings true throughout all quarters of the EFL, which is home to some of the most dedicated and passionate supporters that this country has to offer.

Whether it's in the Championship or down in League Two, a wealth of clubs are supported by strong atmospheres both at home and on the road.

That's not to say that every single club in the EFL is associated with an uplifting atmosphere, though. It's undoubtedly true for many sides, but other outfits are renowned for a lack of attendance and noise, and that also applies throughout all three tiers.

Out of the 72 clubs to have played in the 2025/26 campaign, who does AI believe has the best and worst home atmospheres? They have all been ranked by a score out of 10 - let's take a look at what's in store...

AFC Wimbledon — 7/10

Commencing the list is League One outfit AFC Wimbledon, who have received a healthy rating of seven out of ten.

Wimbledon's Plough Lane stadium is among the smaller grounds in the EFL and while it's hardly a traditional arena, having only opened in 2020, its capacity and close proximity from the stands to the pitch creates what AI has described as a "compact and lively atmosphere."

Accrington Stanley — 5/10

It's a lower score for Accrington Stanley, though, with the Lancashire outfit's home atmosphere being handed a middle-of-the-pack rating by AI.

Stanley are, historically, speaking, a pretty small club. That's not to discredit the fanbase, and AI has credited the atmosphere on offer at the Wham Stadium as "honest and community-driven".

However, there's no denying that it pales in comparison to that of many of the clubs to follow.

Barnet — 5/10

In the view of AI, much of the same applies to fellow League Two side Barnet.

Barnet's stadium, The Hive, is often only half-full despite having a mere capacity of 6,500, meaning the atmosphere can - as AI puts it - "feel flat at times."

The North London club enjoyed a strong first season back in League Two, though, narrowly missing out on a play-off spot - and if the good times can keep rolling, then The Hive may be able to boast a stronger atmosphere in the campaigns to come.

Barnsley — 7/10

In spite of dwindling home attendances in recent years and increasing frustrations from supporters, AI has still given Barnsley's home fans their flowers and believes the Oakwell atmosphere is decent on its day.

Oakwell has hardly been a consistent cauldron of noise during the last few seasons as Barnsley prepare for a fifth straight campaign in League One, but AI has noted a "passionate Yorkshire crowd" that remains capable of providing strong backing when it matters most.

Barrow — 6/10

Barrow's six-year stay in the EFL came to an end this season when the Bluebirds suffered relegation back to the National League, and it's the view of AI that a decent home atmosphere will be leaving League Two.

Described as having a "rugged and vocal local support", AI noted how this can make away trips uncomfortable. That could have just as much to do with the distance, though, with Barrow located just south of the Lake District - making it a long old trip that many League Two fans may be glad to avoid in the 2026/27 campaign.

Birmingham City — 8/10

Ranked among the strongest home atmospheres in the Championship, Birmingham City's St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park has been supplying the noise in recent times.

That wasn't always the case, but Knighthead's takeover of Birmingham in 2024 has revitalised the club both on and off-the-pitch and an impressive atmosphere and home attendance have returned to this side of the Second City.

Blues are aiming to move into a stunning new 62,000 ground by the 2030/31 campaign, and it will be interesting to see what sort of atmosphere is generated at the hotly-anticipated Powerhouse Stadium.

Blackburn Rovers — 6/10

Ewood Park has been one of the emptiest EFL grounds relative to its 31,000+ capacity in years gone by and Blackburn Rovers have hardly served up a racket of noise from the stands - which is why AI's respectable score may surprise some match-going second-tier fans.

There hasn't been an awful lot to cheer about, in fairness, and AI has given credit to the club's "tradition and loyal support" while noting that the atmosphere can feel subdued, too.

Blackpool — 7/10

Blackpool have also been handed a decent score despite varying levels of attendance and, crucially, atmosphere.

AI is of the view that the Tangerines faithful can generate "strong noise" at Bloomfield Road when Blackpool are on the front foot, but that hasn't always been the case across a few uneventful campaigns back in League One following relegation from the Championship in 2023.

Bolton Wanderers — 7/10

The same score applies to Bolton Wanderers, who are described as having a "sizeable and energetic" home support.

Steven Schumacher's side boasted the highest average home attendances in League One this season, with such a volume of supporters naturally raising the volume. It's said, though, that the near-30,000-capacity University of Bolton Stadium can occasionally feel "oversized".

Bradford City — 8/10

The numbers and noise at Bradford City's Valley Parade can be something to behold, and it's hardly surprising to see the Bantams receive such a strong score here.

Known for vocal support both at home and on the road, Bradford secured a top-six finish in League One immediately after gaining promotion and the feel-good factor around the club has created one of the better atmospheres across the EFL.

AI makes note of "huge attendances" at Valley Parade, with the Bantams having the third-tier's second-largest average home attendance in 25/26. It's not just numbers without noise, though - this corner of West Yorkshire has been deafening over the last two seasons in particular.
