All Strasbourg players will wear the Ligue 1 top-scorer patch when they host Nice on Saturday at 17:00, a tribute to teammate Joaquin Panichelli after his serious knee injury with Argentina. According to L'Équipe, the move has been cleared by the LFP.

The golden badge is usually reserved for the division’s leading scorer, currently Panichelli with 16 Ligue 1 goals this season. The club sought permission for a one-off collective use.

The LFP accepted the request and chose not to pass the patch to the next in the rankings, Marseille’s Mason Greenwood, who has 15 goals.

Panichelli sustained a rupture of the right knee cruciate ligaments during training with Argentina. He is already ruled out for many months.

It was his first call-up with the reigning world champions. The striker has been decisive on 24 occasions in all competitions this season.
