Allan comes off the bench and makes his mark on his Corinthians debut

On Thursday night (12th), Corinthians faced Red Bull Bragantino at Neo Química Arena, in a match valid for the third round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship, and won by a score of 2-0. Center-back Gabriel Paulista and left-back Matheus Bidu scored the goals for the Alvinegro. The result placed the Corinthians team in 12th position with three points in two games – three goals scored and two conceded.

In addition to the victory, the match was special for midfielder Allan, who was able to make his debut for Corinthians just one day after being announced and having only one training session with the group. The new number 29 for the Alvinegro was brought on by coach Dorival Júnior in the 24th minute of the second half, replacing midfielder Matheus Pereira, and had a participative performance.

According to Sofascore, a sports statistics app, his rating in the app was 7.0. Over 21 minutes, not counting stoppage time, that he was on the field, he accumulated: 12/15 accurate passes (80%), 2/4 accurate long passes (50%), 19 actions with the ball, three fouls suffered, 1/1 successful dribbles (100%), as well as 4/4 ground duels won.

At Corinthians, Allan arrives to compete for the defensive midfielder position, which currently has Raniele as the undisputed starter. The arrival of the player had coach Dorival Júnior as an important factor. According to statements from the player himself, the two spoke about a possible move to Parque São Jorge over the phone, which ended up facilitating the negotiations.

In his first play, Allan sent Yuri Alberto through on the left and almost saw the striker score for Corinthians. In addition to Raniele, Corinthians has the following options: José Martínez, Charles, Matheus Pereira, Luiz Gustavo Bahia, and André. Amid a high number of games in a short period, Allan should be used frequently throughout this season, since the Alvinegro will compete in: Conmebol Libertadores, Campeonato Brasileiro, Campeonato Paulista, and Copa do Brasil.

After the victory over Red Bull Bragantino at home in the third round of the Brazilian Championship, Corinthians will once again prioritize the Campeonato Paulista. Next Sunday (15th), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will visit São Bernardo FC at Estádio Primeiro de Maio, ABC Paulista, for the eighth and final round of the first phase of the Paulistão. Allan, by the way, will be available.

Meet Allan, Corinthians’ New Signing

Developed in Internacional’s youth academy, midfielder Allan has experience in clubs abroad, having played in Finland, Belgium, Germany, Cyprus, and England. In 2019, he returned to Brazil to play for Fluminense, then coached by Fernando Diniz. Later, in 2020, he was acquired by Atlético-MG, where he stayed until 2022, winning the Campeonato Mineiro (2020, 2021, and 2022), Copa do Brasil (2021), and Campeonato Brasileiro (2021).

Since 2023, he was at Flamengo, but in recent months, he lost his place in Filipe Luís’ team and was consequently placed on the transfer list. In 2026, he played only once for the Rubro-Negro. At the Rio club, he won the state championship (2024 and 2025), Copa do Brasil (2024), Brasileirão (2025), and Conmebol Libertadores (2025).
