According to Globo.com, the new synthetic pitch at Allianz Parque has undergone FIFA inspection and is due to be inaugurated on 15 March, when Palmeiras host Mirassol in the Brasileirão.
With installation complete, tests were conducted by a FIFA-authorised laboratory between late Tuesday and the early hours of Wednesday, taking around seven hours. The evaluation result and FIFA Quality Pro certificate will be released in the coming days, with approval expected.
Palmeiras and WTorre, which operates the stadium, invested R$ 11 million in the replacement, covering materials and the completion of the works.
The stadium now has seventh-generation synthetic turf, with equipment replaced between the end of last year and early 2026 after the surface naturally lost some memory, its ability to regain blade height after bearing weight.
During the overhaul, Soccer Grass removed the cork and sand infill, lifted the old carpet and opened drainage laterals. It then cleared residual infill, levelled and compacted the gravel base, laid Shock Pad rolls, installed the new turf, redistributed sand and cork, and marked out the pitch and other fittings.
The drainage system was also updated alongside the turf modernisation.
