Alta de Lisboa hails Benfica prospect Anísio Cabral after Alverca winner | OneFootball

Alta de Lisboa is celebrating the rise of Benfica’s 17-year-old, under-17 world champion forward Anísio Cabral, with José Mourinho watching.

At Estádio da Luz, Cabral struck the winner in a 2-1 victory over Alverca in the 21st round of Liga Portugal Betclic. He took his first footballing steps in the Alta de Lisboa neighbourhood. Nuno Lemos, president of União Desportiva Alta de Lisboa, said: "Anísio played with great joy and it showed on the pitch. He was very creative and a natural finisher. It was part of him. He would pick up the ball and, in two chances, score twice." He was speaking to A BOLA.

Pedro Araújo, coach of Alta’s senior side, said: "I have known Anísio since he was very young. His brother was my player and he would come to training and stay with us. As he lived nearby, we followed him and realised his footballing growth was remarkable. And today he is what he is. Probably the future of our national team at centre forward."

Lemos added: "It is a great source of pride for me as president. It is a showcase for Alta de Lisboa to be recognised."

For Benfica this season, Cabral has made three Liga Portugal Betclic appearances and, across 19 minutes, scored two headers.
