Alverca confirm André Gomes return to work under Marco Silva at Benfica | OneFootball

Alverca confirmed on Sunday that goalkeeper André Gomes' loan has ended, with the Benfica loanee returning to the club. He has already joined Marco Silva's pre-season group.

The spell marked his first experience away from Benfica since moving into the senior ranks and brought regular minutes in the professional game.

Gomes made 25 competitive appearances for the Ribatejo side, taking on an important role across the campaign. Those minutes could prove decisive as his career enters a new phase.

At Seixal, it is a fresh chance to impress Marco Silva and try to earn a place in the first-team squad for 2026/27.

Benfica face their first official match on 23 July against St. Gallen in the Europa League second qualifying round. Warm-up fixtures are scheduled beforehand, including meetings with Flamengo and Villarreal, plus games behind closed doors.
