Amadou Haidara set to join Lens from RB Leipzig | OneFootball

Amadou Haidara (27) is all set to join RC Lens from Red Bull Leipzig this January, according to a report from L’Équipe. The Mali international will head off to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), and then return to France. 

Haidara was an important member of RB Leipzig’s squad last season, playing 28 games in the Bundesliga, however, he has not played for the German club this season. The midfielder only has a few months left on his contract, and he is now set to depart to join Ligue 1 leaders Lens. 

As per L’Équipe, Les Sang et Or will spend €3m, including bonuses, on the midfielder. In order for the move to happen, Haidara has had to make a financial sacrifice, with Lens unable to pay the €400,000 per month that he currently earns in Germany. 

The midfielder will soon head off to AFCON and will then strengthen Lens’ midfield upon his return to Europe.
