Amar Dedic honoured in Bosnia as Gracanica hails Benfica right-back | OneFootball

Amar Dedic, Benfica’s right-back, has been honoured in his homeland after a standout season for club and for Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have secured a place at the 2026 World Cup.

In Gracanica, the city of his family’s origin, a public tribute went up in the form of a large billboard reading “Um orgulho de Gracanica”, highlighting his impact. According to Glorioso 1904, the display celebrates his performances for the Eagles and his national team.

The 23-year-old remains closely tied to his roots, with his father from Donja Orahovica and his mother from Lisnja, both near the area, which adds to the symbolism for the local community.

The initiative came from Gracanica residents and also references Bosnia’s participation at the next World Cup, publicising the national team’s schedule and arranging public screenings of the matches, in a show of strong support for the defender.

This season for Benfica, Dedic, valued at €15 million, has made 40 appearances, 21 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 14 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 3,309 minutes, the number 17 has one goal and four assists.
