América’s push to sign Raphael Veiga has stalled, Americayya.net reports, with the club yet to free a foreign slot. Despite talk in Brazil that terms are in place, an offer has not been sent while they try to move on a foreign player.

The hierarchy and coaching staff targeted Veiga last week and wanted the deal wrapped up by the weekend. There has been no official update since.

Víctor Dávila has strong interest from Colo Colo but two issues persist. He is not convinced about returning to his country and there is no agreement on his wages. Colo Colo want a loan while paying less than half his salary, América propose a loan with wages split equally.

The ‘Pantera’ Zúñiga was offered to Atlético Nacional and América de Calí. Both view his salary as too high for Colombian football. Talks would only happen if he accepts a pay cut or if América loan him out while covering most of his wages.

With other exits stalling, América have also offered Rodrigo Aguirre. Xolos are interested, though they need time to open a foreign slot before moving.

América are racing the clock. The plan was to have Veiga in for the start of Concachampions, which now looks unlikely. The focus is simply to sign him while the market remains open.
