“Among Friends”: Watzke, Ricken and Cramer Open BVB Embassy in Cincinnati | OneFootball

Together with Ricken, CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and Managing Director Carsten Cramer kicked off the weekend’s first BVB party on a small artificial turf pitch next to the bar. “We’re very happy to be here among so many friends,” said Watzke, addressing fans who had traveled not only from Dortmund and across Germany, but also from all over the United States.

As their brief speeches ended, the BVB officials were quickly surrounded by enthusiastic supporters eager to take photos and raise a toast with a cold Dortmund beer.

The BVB Embassy at The Pitch will remain open through June 25 (except Monday), when Dortmund play their final group-stage match against Ulsan HD from South Korea (Wednesday, 3 pm local time / 9 pm CEST) – once again in Cincinnati. Until then, Lars Ricken hopes to deliver on a promise he made that night: “I’m very confident that our players will stop by here in the next few days” – ideally with a few more Club World Cup points in their pockets.
