‘An Option For Liverpool’ – Star Reds Chased In 2023 Back In Fashion | OneFootball

Juventus midfield star Khephren Thuram is again a transfer target for Premier League giants Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The Reds endured a poor last season in the Premier League, which saw them finish a whopping 25 points below champions Arsenal.

The club decided to sack league-winning manager Arne Slot late last month and are trusting Andoni Iraola to take the project forward at Anfield.

Liverpool are expected to strengthen their side carefully in the upcoming window, having lost the likes of Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate for free.

The Reds are expected to bring in midfielders in the coming months, and were very keen on German sensation Kennet Eichhorn, who is joining Bayer Leverkusen.

The Merseyside giants could sell midfielder Curtis Jones, who is wanted by Italian champions Inter Milan, with talks having happened.

Nerazzurri boss Cristian Chivu is a big fan of the English midfielder, whose contract at Liverpool runs out next summer.

Inter Milan’s sporting director himself has admitted that they want Jones, and Iraola will likely need to beef up the Liverpool engine room.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Thuram is back in fashion and is ‘an option for Liverpool’.

Liverpool chased Thuram heavily in the summer of 2023, holding talks with his representatives.

Ultimately, the midfielder did not go to Anfield, but it appears the Liverpool recruitment team have not lost sight of his qualities.

However, they are not the only Premier League club keen on the Frenchman, who is also an option for Manchester United.

Super Lig giants Galatasaray are also in the race to sign the Frenchman and they have even enquired about the central midfielder.

It has been suggested that the Bianconeri have not put a price on Thuram, but conversations could start with an offer of around €45m to €50m.

Thuram is not keen to leave, but could be sold anyway.

Liverpool’s interest in the 25-year-old goes back much further than 2023 and they were first linked with him back in 2019, when he was at Ligue 1 club Monaco.

Thuram is a key player for the Old Lady in their engine room, and with three years remaining in his current deal, it remains to be seen whether the Serie A club are ready to entertain offers for the midfielder.
