Ancelotti’s priority, Brazil’s next midfield generation highlighted | OneFootball

Carlo Ancelotti has made Brazil’s next-cycle priority the discovery of top midfielders through to 2030. According to Globo.com, he set it as a defined mission. Emerging options aged 15 to 21 are mapped across roles five, eight and 10.

Options at number five: Palmeiras’ Luis Pacheco, 18, Botafogo’s Huguinho, 19, and Cruzeiro’s Zé Lucas, 18. Pacheco has first-team minutes, Huguinho returned from Belgium and earned a starting role, Zé Lucas captained Brazil’s 2025 Under-17 champions and signed last week.

At eight: Santos’ Gabriel Bontempo, 21, Corinthians’ Breno Bidon, 21, Vasco’s Ramon Rique, 18, and Cruzeiro’s Eduardo Pape, 17. Bontempo has four goals and two assists in his last 10 games, Bidon is a mainstay and starred in the 2024 Copa do Brasil final, Rique broke into the first team, Pape top-scored at the 2026 Under-17 South American.

The playmaker pool features Corinthians’ Gui Amorim, 18, Palmeiras’ Eduardo Conceição, 16, Fluminense’s Jean Carlos, 16, and Flamengo’s Kauã Pavuna, 15. Amorim awaits a senior debut, Conceição excels for club and Brazil Under-17s and Palmeiras project a €50m sale, with specialists suggesting he could be a 2030 option, Jean Carlos is a left-footed creator, Pavuna has shone for Brazil’s youth sides.

Abroad and emerging, Al-Qadsiah’s Gabriel Carvalho, 18, moved from Internacional for US$22m in late 2024. Grêmio’s Gabriel Mec, 18, saw a Chelsea move collapse and has Shakhtar interest, Isaque, 19, joined Shakhtar for €12m and posted 13 goal involvements in 37 matches, Athletico Paranaense’s José Henrique, 16, scored from halfway in a title-winning Under-17 campaign.
