Ander Barrenetxea has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records after scoring the fastest goal in the history of Copa del Rey finals. The Real Sociedad forward struck in the showpiece against Atlético de Madrid on 18 April.
According to AS, he has recently received the certificate confirming the record. The award confirms his mark as the quickest strike ever in the competition's final.
The goal arrived 14 seconds after kick-off at La Cartuja. Barrenetxea met a cross from Guedes with a header.
The early breakthrough set Real Sociedad on their way and the match ended with the cup secured.
It has been a strong season for the winger, who was influential first under Sergio Francisco, then for Pellegrino Matarazzo.
He has also made his senior international debut and is in the preliminary World Cup squad.
