There are a lot of areas among their ranks that still need an upgrade or two.

In fact, some people are even suggesting that Andoni Iraola left a better team in Bournemouth than the one he has moved to.

Of course, if everyone was fit, that wouldn't be the case but, with how many players the Spaniard has out injured at the moment, the Reds' team need some serious surgery.

Fans have already demanded that changes are made with most people knowing that at least another four or five players are needed at Liverpool to get them to be competitive again.

However, after their huge amount of spending last summer, resources are limited and it's unclear whether the Reds will get all the deals that they need to over the line.

But, if they do manage to find some money down the back of the sofa and bring in more than one new player, Iraola may have already found the perfect answer to one of his main problems.

Liverpool are being linked with Wilfried Singo

Even though Liverpool signed Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold last season, it was quickly made clear that the Dutchman is not a right-back.

When playing for Bayer Leverkusen, the defender was used as a right-midfielder in a back five.

This allowed him to push forward a bit more and made sure that he didn't have as much defensive responsibility due to the number of centre-backs behind him.

However, in Arne Slot's system, he was used as a traditional full-back and, even though he was allowed to push forward at times, he still didn't have as much freedom as he wanted to have.

The Turkish Super Lig team want around €40 million for the Ivorian and, since he's played as a right-back for most of his career, he'd be a perfect addition to Liverpool's ranks.

And, his arrival would also help solve one of Liverpool's main issues.

Most people thought that Liverpool's right-back was going to be locked down by Frimpong and Conor Bradley for the next few years.

However, after Bradley suffered yet another injury and Slot preferred his fellow countryman as a right-winger, Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones ended up filling the position.

And, while both of the midfielders performed well when used there, it's clear that they're much more comfortable when used in the centre of the park.

So, with this in mind, it's clear that a new right-back should be on top of Liverpool's priority list.

Indeed, if Bradley was fit, the position would almost certainly be his to lose but, since his injury history hasn't left fans or the club with that much trust in him, it's clear that it is now time for a change.

There's now just under a month left of the 2026-27 summer transfer window so, if Liverpool want to make their move, they need to do it as soon as possible.

Otherwise, they could end up missing out and scrambling to find their next right-back again like they did during the January transfer window.
