André Silva will be unveiled by Porto on Friday, sealing a return to the club a decade after his departure.
According to O Jogo, the 30-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with an option for a further season that includes a €30m release clause. He completed paperwork and medicals on Monday, with formalities delayed while André Villas-Boas was away, and has already recorded content for his presentation.
Silva left Elche at the end of this season, and a clause in his deal there reduced his buyout from €8m to €4m if Porto moved. He accepted a considerable salary cut to come home.
He returns having made 58 appearances for Porto with 24 goals and nine assists, following spells in Serie A, La Liga and the Bundesliga.
An image of Silva in the new shirt leaked on Thursday as he signed another, a breach that left the club unhappy and prompted action.
Silva is motivated by challenging for trophies and Champions League football, and by a possible Portugal recall. He has not featured for the national team since the Qatar World Cup, yet remains the fourth-highest active scorer with 19 in 53 games, behind Cristiano Ronaldo on 143, Bruno Fernandes on 29 and Nani on 24.
