André strikes as Estoril climb to ninth | OneFootball

Estoril beat Braga 1-0 on Friday at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota to rise from 13th to ninth in Liga Portugal.

In the 43rd minute André swept a left-footed finish from the left side of the box into the bottom right, after Pedro Amaral's pass.

After the restart Joel Robles kept the lead intact, smothering Pau Victor and then gathering Victor Gomez's close-range effort. Lukas Hornicek made a string of stops at the other end to keep Braga in contention.

Injuries forced Amaral and Ricard Sánchez off in the second half, but the home defence stood firm, with repeated headed clearances and blocks to see the game out.

Braga dominated the ball with 67.9% possession as they chased a leveller. Estoril produced seven shots on target from 13 attempts to make their moments count.

Next, Estoril host Alverca. Braga visit Caldas in the Taça de Portugal.
