Being part of an institution for 50 years is not merely a matter of seniority: it reflects a loyalty that helped write the club’s history. It was in this spirit that FC Porto honored the members who completed half a century of ties to the blue-and-white team.
At the ceremony held on Tuesday evening, 383 members received their Gold Rosettes from FC Porto president André Villas-Boas in the VIP Stand of the Estádio do Dragão.
Registered as members in 1974 and 1975, at a time when the football team was seeking to end a long title drought, these supporters witnessed the winning of 25 National Championships, 17 Portuguese Cups, 24 Super Cups, two Intercontinental Cups, one European Champion Clubs’ Cup, one Champions League, one UEFA Cup, one Europa League, one UEFA Super Cup, and one League Cup.
Over the last five decades, the members now honored with the Gold Rosettes closely followed FC Porto’s periods of growth, emergence, and consolidation in national and international football, always maintaining their support in victory and defeat.
At a time when the number of members has already surpassed 176,000, the club pays tribute to those who joined more than 50 years ago and contributed decisively to FC Porto’s identity and success.
