Andrea Falcón to leave Benfica on a free as contract expires | OneFootball

Benfica confirmed on Monday 1 June that Andrea Falcón will leave when her contract expires at the end of June, becoming a free agent. The club said in a statement that the Spain international’s departure follows Carissa Boeckmann.

The 29-year-old winger arrived in 2023 after winning the Champions League with Barcelona and made an immediate impact in her debut season. In 34 games she registered nine goals and eight assists, helping Benfica to several domestic honours.

She then faced a prolonged injury ordeal. Over the last two seasons she was unable to return to the pitch because of successive physical problems.

Within the squad she was regarded as a model of sacrifice and competitive resilience, and she became a favourite among supporters. In her farewell she called it a beautiful chapter at an incredible club and highlighted that the first season was the one she enjoyed most, when Benfica had an outstanding campaign and won everything except the Champions League.

Falcón departs with one Liga BPI, one Taça de Portugal, one Taça da Liga and one Supertaça, leaving associated with one of the most successful spells in the team’s recent history.
