Andreas Schjelderup’s renewal has stalled at Benfica, with the 22-year-old currently showing no intention of accepting the club’s offer.

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica proposed a contract running to 2031 with a significant salary increase. The winger did not respond within the set deadline, so his future remains open.

A move to the Premier League is gaining traction on the player’s side, driven more by sporting ambition than finance. He views England as a chance to compete at the highest level, at a time when Benfica will not play in the Champions League.

Schjelderup has two years left on his deal, which carries a 100 million euros release clause. Benfica are open to negotiating an exit only around 40 million, while the board led by Rui Costa seeks a solution.

This season he played 43 times for Benfica, 28 in the league, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Portuguese Cup and one in the League Cup. Across 2,548 minutes he recorded 10 goals and seven assists. He is valued at 30 million euros.
