Andrew compares Flamengo set-up with European club after arrival | OneFootball

Flamengo’s new goalkeeper Andrew says the club’s facilities surpass those he experienced at Gil Vicente, and he is delighted with what he has found.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the 24-year-old said he can only compare with the Portuguese side where he worked, which does not have as broad a structure as Flamengo, though he praised the staff there.

He added that he is completely happy and satisfied with what Flamengo provides, describing everything as top tier at a very big club with high demands that equips players to do their best work.

The George Helal training centre impressed Bayer Leverkusen’s first team, who used the facilities during their 2025/26 pre-season.

In September 2025 Flamengo invested 1 million dollars, approximately R$ 5.35 million, in new equipment for Ninho do Urubu, including a Keiser A300 Runner that simulates the acceleration phase of running.

After his presentation, Andrew could feature in the clássico against Vasco on Wednesday 21, with Flamengo bottom of Group B in the Carioca, which increases the chances of senior players replacing the under-20s.
