Angel Gomes could leave this summer, with a decision on his Wolves future to follow the final game.
Rob Edwards said: "Angel is someone who's really keen to play at the highest level, as high a level as possible, so we'll see what happens. There's obviously one more game to go, which he's in the mix for and then we'll see what happens after the last game."
Wolves end their season against Burnley. Gomes joined on loan from Marseille in the winter window and the club hold a £6million option to buy. It has been expected he would not remain at Championship level, and Edwards kept his counsel beyond acknowledging the player's ambitions.
"I haven't spoken to Marseille and everything that goes on behind the scenes has been left with my agent and the clubs really. I haven't spoken personally to anyone at either club really," he said. "In these circumstances, the best thing I can do is leave it to my advisors."
He was speaking to The Athletic.
"Only time will tell, but my advisors and my agents will look after me. But coming back to England has never been the be-all and end-all for me. If there are opportunities to play for a team in England then it's not something that I would turn down, but I'm open to playing anywhere."
