Angel Gomes’ future to be clarified before potential Wolves exit | OneFootball

Angel Gomes could leave Wolves this summer, with Rob Edwards noting the loanee wants to play at the highest level ahead of their final game against Burnley.

The midfielder joined on loan from Marseille in the winter window and Wolves have a £six million option to buy.

It has long been expected he would not remain in the Championship. Edwards said the player aims to play as high as possible and will be in contention for the last match, after which the club will see what follows.

“I haven’t spoken to Marseille and everything that goes on behind the scenes has been left with my agent and the clubs really. I haven’t spoken personally to anyone at either club really. In these circumstances, the best thing I can do is leave it to my advisors.” He was speaking to The Athletic.

“Only time will tell, but my advisors and my agents will look after me. But coming back to England has never been the be-all and end-all for me in my career or in my life. If there are opportunities to play for a team in England then it’s not something that I would turn down, but I’m open to playing anywhere.”
