Angers captain Haris Belkebla out for a month after thigh surgery | OneFootball

Angers will be without captain Haris Belkebla for a month after he underwent surgery on a thigh injury.

The club said in a statement that he suffered the injury during pre-season and that the operation went well.

The 32-year-old was hurt in recent days and missed Saturday’s 2-1 friendly win against Créteil of N1. He has not joined the squad for the training camp in Deauville, which runs until 1 August.

Angers begin their Ligue 1 campaign at home to Lille on 23 August, then travel to Auxerre on 29 August.

Belkebla, who extended his deal this summer, could be available at best for Rennes on 6 September if the timeline is met.
