At this year’s Annual General Meeting, the board evaluated its previous term in positive fashion, while Mathias Beck stated that he would be looking to continue in the role of president.

At this year’s Annual General Meeting of Eintracht Frankfurt e.V., Mathias Beck made his first address as president to the almost 2,000 members and guests present. He looked back on his work to date since taking on the role and the successes achieved, whilst underlining his willingness to continue in the role once his term ends in early 2027. Treasurer Dominik Berker also spoke of the club’s healthy financial situation.

Beck has been president of Eintracht Frankfurt e.V. for almost two years now. Presenting the board’s report as part of the Annual General Meeting, he went through the various milestones that have occurred since taking office at the beginning of February 2024. Restructuring measures on the organisational side, Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG’s strengthened position as main shareholder, infrastructure projects such as the bobsleigh run, an increase in internal revenue and sporting successes were all mentioned in his speech, while he also spoke of growth on various other levels.

Growth in active and passive members

Over the two years to date of Beck’s term of office, the club has attracted 21,000 new members, bringing the total to over 160,000. What was particularly pleasing was the growth in members in the various sports sections, with the number now over the 16,000 mark. The main reasons behind this are the consistent expansion of infrastructure and sounding out new target groups and sporting disciplines, to widen the offer to a greater number of people whilst at the same time furthering top-level sport.

“As well as the expansion of our recreational sport offer, we will also be looking to increase the focus on ensuring that the structures are in place for young talents from around the region to progress in high-level sport,” Beck said. “As such, we have implemented a concept that is designed to make Eintracht even more attractive to potential top-level athletes. We will be looking to set greater standards of professionalism at this top level in terms of infrastructure, quality of training, marketing support and career development, creating a significant pillar alongside what we already offer to promote recreational sport.”

Financial situation

Treasurer Berker reported on financial developments across the previous year and the current term of the board. Over the past two years, the financial situation has stabilised and a significant part of the outstanding tax liabilities from the past have been settled. “Financial stability, methodical growth and transparent decision-making processes form the financial basis for a strong future for Eintracht Frankfurt,” said Berker, who was also pleased to note the results of the work carried out by e.V. subsidiary Eintracht Frankfurt ProSports GmbH, which saw the club’s sponsorship revenues increase once again over the year under review.

Beck looking to stay on

Beck also stated that he hoped to continue in his role as president at the end of his term in early 2027. “After a number of discussions with my family, the board, the executive committees and representatives of the various departments involved, I feel that I have the support that I would need,” said Beck. “I have what it takes in terms of inspiration and especially motivation, and I feel an unbridled sense of solidarity here at Eintracht.”
