Anthony Gordon has made many headlines this summer, but perhaps his biggest came on Wednesday during the World Cup semi-final.

The 25-year-old recently signed for Barcelona after departing Newcastle and went viral on X for not only joining the LaLiga giants but also for delivering his first piece of content in fluent Spanish.

He then went on to generate more influence during the 2026 World Cup. 

Prior to the semi-final against Argentina, Gordon had registered three assists during his first-ever tournament appearance. 

He now has an impressive four goals and assists combined across four games after opening the scoring with a run by the back post and an acrobatic finish.

Gordon joins Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford to have scored in this year's edition.
