As speculation swirls around his future, Bournemouth winger, Antoine Semenyo (25), whose performances have helped lift the Cherries to second in the Premier League, insists he is “completely happy” at the club and grateful he resisted summer overtures from elsewhere.

I’m not oblivious,” the Ghana international told Sky Sports Jamie Redknapp ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manchester City. “I see the stories, but I try to stay present. I’m enjoying my football here, I just focus on helping the team and scoring goals. Whatever happens in the future happens.

Semenyo’s decision to stay is paying off. With six league goals, second only to Erling Haaland, the 25-year-old has become the heartbeat of Andoni Iraola’s thrilling, high-pressing Bournemouth side. “The manager’s got something up his sleeve,” Semenyo smiled. “I’m glad I committed to staying because I’m enjoying every moment.”

Beyond the pitch, Semenyo credits his quiet discipline for his progress. Each season begins with a handwritten journal of goals and challenges, targets he sets not just for scoring, but for maturity and decision-making. “Double figures for goals and assists was up there,” he said. “I like to challenge myself and push my limits.”

Equally remarkable is his ambidexterity. “I’m right-footed… but using both is natural,” he shrugged, recalling his father’s early encouragement. “It’s tough for defenders, they never know which way I’m going.”

Bournemouth will next face Manchester City away from home on Sunday.
