Anton Stach says Daniel Farke merits recognition for Leeds United’s turnaround, praising the head coach after Friday’s win that left them all but mathematically safe from relegation.

According to Leeds Live, the midfielder stressed that Farke gives players confidence and has trusted him to influence games, which he appreciates.

Signed from Hoffenheim for £17m in the summer, Stach has impressed in his first Premier League season and hit his fifth of the campaign from long range in the 3-1 defeat of Burnley at Elland Road, where supporters sang for Farke at full-time. After a brief October dip and injuries, he has become integral, starting 26 of the 27 league matches for which he was available.

Leeds have lost only four league games since a 3-2 defeat at Manchester City, cited as a turning point after Farke switched to a back three. United were in the bottom three then, they have not lost in the top flight since March three and now sit on 43 points with three matches to play.

Farke reflected that the team, management, coaches and staff stuck together during the difficult spell, rather than fracturing. He said it is easy to look good when winning, but that character is revealed in adversity, which he felt everyone at the club has shown.
