António Silva’s move to Bournemouth has become Benfica’s biggest sale of the window, surpassing José Mourinho’s departure to Real Madrid, with total outgoings already around 66 million euros.
According to Glorioso 1904, the centre-back was sold for 25 million euros fixed, which could rise to 30 million depending on objectives, delivering a major cash boost to the Rui Costa-led SAD.
Mourinho’s move had until then represented the largest single intake for Benfica in this market, bringing in about 15 million euros.
Further funds came from academy products not in Marco Silva’s plans, notably Sidny Lopes Cabral’s switch to Trabzonspor in Türkiye for roughly 10 million euros.
Gonçalo Oliveira, Gustavo Marques and Rodrigo Rêgo were also sold for around 3.5 million euros each, to Rennes, Red Bull Bragantino and Brighton respectively.
Oliveira, a 20-year-old centre-back, left without making a senior debut. Rêgo, a winger promoted by Mourinho to the first team, joined Brighton then was loaned to Castellón.
