António Silva leaves Benfica for Bournemouth in €25m deal rising to €30m | OneFootball

António Silva has left Benfica to join Bournemouth. The Portuguese centre-back was announced on Saturday, ending a long spell with the Lisbon club where he came through the ranks.

Benfica said in a statement that the deal is worth €25m guaranteed, with performance-related add-ons that could lift the total to €30m. It added that intermediary services may account for up to 9.5% of the fee.

The switch to the Premier League comes as Silva entered the final year of his Benfica contract. After more than a decade with the club, the Portugal international departs the side that launched his professional career.

Promoted to the first team in 2022/23, he made 183 official appearances and scored 10 goals. He won four trophies, one league title, a Taça da Liga and two Supertaças.

Silva now begins a new chapter in England, while Benfica secure a notable windfall in this summer window.
