Araújo ‘to sign’ for Casa Pia as Benfica exit nears | OneFootball

Henrique Araújo is close to ending his Benfica stint, having reportedly given the green light to join Casa Pia. The Portugal Under-21 international is preparing to sign a permanent contract.

Record writes that the move was requested personally by Casa Pia head coach Filipe Coelho, who sees the 24-year-old as an upgrade in attack.

His exit gathered pace after Marco Silva omitted him from pre-season. Out of the coach’s plans, he was told to seek a move to continue his career.

Since then the striker weighed several options, prioritising regular minutes and a platform to relaunch his trajectory. Casa Pia convinced him, and he believes the setting is right to regain prominence.

All indications are that Araújo will end his association with Benfica, with the transfer expected to be made official in the coming days.
