Archer and Larin fire as Southampton climb to fourth

Southampton beat Blackburn Rovers 3-0 at St Mary's on Tuesday to rise from fifth to fourth in the Championship.
Cyle Larin opened the scoring in the 24th minute, tucking in from close range after Cameron Archer's pass.
Ryan Manning doubled the lead (43.) with a low finish from the left of the area.
After the restart, the home goalkeeper saved from Sean McLoughlin before Saints made a triple change (71.), introducing Léo Scienza. Ryoya Morishita then struck the bar for Blackburn Rovers (81.), but Scienza released Archer to sweep in the clincher (86.).
Saints registered 16 attempts, seven on target, and had 58.6% possession. Blackburn Rovers recorded eight attempts with three on target.
Blackburn Rovers drop from 19th to 20th. Saints visit Swansea City next. Blackburn Rovers host Coventry City next.
