Arias sends message as Palmeiras announce signing and deal to December 2029 | OneFootball

Arias has joined Palmeiras after bidding farewell to Wolverhampton on Saturday, addressing supporters in a club video.

The player said in a post that he was delighted to join a club of Palmeiras' size and hoped their journey together would be full of trophies and memorable moments.

He also published an open letter explaining his decision, saying he is at an important moment in his career, mindful of the weight of his words, and that life and football are dynamic. He wrote that, given what was possible now and within his control, he needed to make decisions. He added that he is starting a new chapter and thanked those who truly support him.

That reference relates to his July move from Fluminense to Wolverhampton, when his farewell included a promise to return to the Rio club where he excelled.

Fluminense attempted to bring Arias back but did not reach Palmeiras' offer. Palmeiras bid 25 million euros, R$ 154 million, while Fluminense, which held an option to match domestic offers, went to 20 million euros, R$ 123.8 million. Wolverhampton did not accept and completed the transfer with the São Paulo club.

Arias has signed until December 2029 and is due to report to Palmeiras next week.
