Armani could leave River Plate as Atlético Nacional step up efforts to repatriate the veteran goalkeeper, according to SuperDepor.com. The Colombian side want him as soon as possible following David Ospina's exit.
Armani, one of River's heroes from the 2018 Madrid Libertadores win over Boca Juniors, has endured a difficult 2026 season, with injury issues and Santiago Beltrán's form pushing him down the pecking order.
The 39-year-old's deal runs until December, yet a return to Atlético Nacional has long been on the table and could be brought forward.
River have not received formal notification. Given Armani's service, the club would not place obstacles in the way of a possible contract termination.
Armani has not spoken publicly about his plans. He is likely to hold talks with Eduardo Coudet in the coming days to decide his next step.
Should he depart, Ezequiel Centurión would become River's back-up goalkeeper behind Santiago Beltrán.
