Liverpool have another summer of change ahead of them in the 2026-27 season.

Both Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are set to exit Anfield at the end of the current campaign which leaves two massive voids for the Reds to fill.

The futures of other players such as Federico Chiesa and Ibrahima Konate are also undecided which means that more change could be afoot.

So, with all these players looking for a way out of Liverpool, several new faces will need to be brought in with Jeremy Jacquet the first of many players to be signed.

However, with Salah and Robertson both leaving as free agents, some funding will need to be raised if Arne Slot and Richard Hughes want to plug the gaps in their team.

Or, they'll have to get creative which is exactly what seems to be happening after the latest update to emerge from L4.

Liverpool could sign Eduardo Camavinga if Alexis Mac Allister is allowed to join Real Madrid

Although Liverpool's midfield is their most stacked area at the moment, the recent rumours that have been shared could mean that change is also on the way in the centre of the park.

Curtis Jones' future has been heavily discussed and with Dominik Szoboszlai in the best form of his career, several clubs have been linked with a move for him too.

However, it's Alexis Mac Allister who's the main player in question at the moment with Real Madrid now vying for his transfer.

And, seeing as though the Reds have a long-standing interest in Eduardo Camavinga, a deal which sees both players swapped could be on the cards.

That is, if an update from TEAMtalk is to be believed.

The online outlet starts off their report by stating that intermediaries are already "working on a deal" that could see both midfielder "switch" clubs.

Camavinga's camp are currently "assessing his options" ahead of what is expected to be a rather busy summer transfer window.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are "planning a reshuffle" with Los Blancos looking for a different profile of player to compliment the playing styles of Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Mac Allister is "amongst those under consideration" with the La Liga outfit believing the 27-year-old has similar qualities to Luka Modric with the club even doing "significant background work" on the Argentinian.

Arne Slot could swap Alexis Mac Allister for Eduardo Camavinga this summer

Not only is Camavinga much more versatile than Mac Allister but he's also much younger.

The Frenchman has been a Real Madrid player for some time now and, even though he's been a regular first-teamer, it seems like Real Madrid want to make a change.

Liverpool are in need of another defensive midfielder as well as a left-back which are Camavinga's two most natural positions.

He's also only 23 years old which lines up perfectly with the Reds' current transfer stance.

Indeed, a deal would cost Liverpool Mac Allister and a decent chunk of change but, if his arrival helps freshen things up and sorts their midfield options for the next six or seven years, it could end up being one of Slot's best-ever deals.

There's obviously a lot of moving parts in this deal and nothing is ever guaranteed in football but, if Jones ends up leaving and Mac Allister or Szoboszlai want to explore pastures new, this could be the best way for them to do so.
