Mohamed Salah faces an anxious wait to see if his Liverpool career has reached a premature end after he came off in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace with a suspected hamstring injury.
The Egyptian, who will leave Anfield in the summer, pulled up in pain in the second half and head coach Arne Slot admitted he feared it was a serious problem when Salah left the pitch.
Liverpool will assess the 33-year-old, who has scored 257 goals for them, to see if he can play a part in any of their four remaining fixtures, against Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford.
Slot said: “We all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch. For Mo to leave the pitch, it shows you something but we have to wait and see how bad it is
“We don’t know. That is the best answer I can give. If I say there might be a chance, that is probably all the headlines that there might be a chance so we simply don’t know but what we do know is that the season in four weeks is over.
“Not a lot of games are being played so we have to wait and see how his injury is and if he can return to play. What I do know about Mo is he has taken so good care of his body all these years that he will have the minimum time required to recover from an injury and let’s hope for the best, that he is available in the last part.”

The forward has shattered records at Liverpool since he was signed from Roma in 2017 and was the unanimous player of the year as the Reds lifted the Premier League title last season.
This campaign has been more difficult for both Salah and Liverpool. The player gave an explosive interview to reporters in December, accusing the club of throwing him “under the bus”.
He later apologised and will now anxiously await news as to whether he has played his final game in Liverpool colours.
