Tolu Arokodare has been left out of Wolves’ pre-season trip to Portugal as European clubs pursue his signature, according to ExpressAndStar.com.
Fiorentina’s initial loan proposal was rejected because the fee was deemed too low, and they would need to raise it significantly to reach agreement. Talks between the clubs continue, with the 25-year-old staying at home while the squad travelled on Monday for a week-long camp.
Wolves are open to offers this summer and a loan currently looks the likeliest route. Trabzonspor had a loan bid turned down last week and remain in the mix, though Arokodare is understood to favour Italy over Türkiye.
Fiorentina are expected to return with an improved offer. Arokodare only joined last summer in a deal worth up to £24 million and scored three Premier League goals, six in all competitions, across 38 appearances as Wolves were relegated.
He reported back at Compton last week and is edging towards an exit. Former head coach Rob Edwards had wanted to move him on following a dressing-room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane after the 4-0 defeat to West Ham, when Arokodare was the sole aggressor.
Under new boss Cesar Peixoto, he is now set to play no further part next season.
