Wolves cancelled a training session on Monday after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

Extra security staff were drafted in afterwards to prevent any repeat. He will not feature in Wednesday’s friendly at Maidenhead United.

The 25-year-old is not banned from the training ground, but his exit this summer is widely expected and now looks increasingly acrimonious, creating an early headache for new boss Cesar Peixoto.

Arokodare did not initially travel for last week’s warm weather training camp in Portugal, receiving a late call-up after fellow forward Adam Armstrong was injured.

Signed from Genk for £24 million last summer, he scored only three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated from the top flight.

In April he faced disciplinary action after a dressing room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham, in which he was the sole aggressor.

Wolves accepted a loan offer from Trabzonspor for Arokodare, but the player turned the move down.
