Arrascaeta has begun his recovery at home after surgery on his right clavicle, keeping open his hopes of featuring at the World Cup.
On Saturday he posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, showing initial treatment on his right shoulder before physiotherapy starts at Ninho do Urubu, according to Globo.com. He wrote that the process had started.
The device shown combines cryotherapy and intermittent active compression.
On Friday, Flamengo doctor Luiz Macedo did not rule out Arrascaeta making the World Cup with Uruguay, but he avoided comparisons with Botafogo’s Argentine Montoro.
Montoro, 12 years younger, returned 41 days after fracturing his right clavicle last year, while there are 46 days from Arrascaeta’s operation to Uruguay’s opener.
Arrascaeta is expected to report back to Ninho do Urubu on Monday to continue his rehabilitation.
