Arrascaeta celebrates Flamengo return after three months, says he is back where he belongs | OneFootball

After three months out, Flamengo playmaker Arrascaeta has been named in the squad to face Chapecoense in the Campeonato Brasileiro on Wednesday at 21:30, Brasília time. He marked his return on social media.

The player said in a post that he had missed playing, yet his desire to return was stronger, adding that he feels back where he belongs. The accompanying video shows training and the trip to Chapecó, and includes a message from former Uruguay president Pepe Mujica urging perseverance and fresh starts.

The No 10 first suffered a fractured clavicle on 29 April against Estudiantes in Argentina in the Libertadores. Then, while with Uruguay, he sustained a grade 2 injury to his right calf on the eve of the World Cup opener and did not play in the tournament.

He missed all of Flamengo’s interseason friendlies while continuing his rehabilitation at Ninho do Urubu.

He also shortened his holidays to step up preparation for the second half of the year.
