The last few days have seen Real Madrid become the center of attention for everyone following the European transfer market. The Merengues have been involved in several high-profile operations as the transfer window reaches what could be its climax, following the end of the World Cup.
During these days, Los Blancos have made rapid and significant progress towards the signing of the RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande, and are expected to complete this transfer any day now. Meanwhile, they are also working on the acquisition of the Manchester City midfielder Rodri Hernandez.
On the other hand, the future of one of their superstars, Vinicius Junior, has also come into question, as there is only a single year left on his contract, and despite prolonged negotiations, the two parties have not yet reached an agreement for a renewal.
In such a context, Arsenal emerged on the scene as a suitor for the Brazilian forward, and some reports suggested that they were willing to make him the highest-paid player in their history. However, MARCA reports that the Gunners have already given up on the player, as they understand that there is very little chance of him leaving the Merengue club this summer.
The star forward has not given any indication of a desire for a change of scenery so far this summer, despite the reported disagreement between him and the club about the terms of a new contract. Rather than leaving the club with a year left on his contract, the London club understands that he is actually going to sign a renewal.
As a result, the Premier League champions will now turn their attention to other targets to strengthen their wings. Meanwhile, the task for Real Madrid remains to work out an agreement with Vinicius Junior so both parties can go into the next season with greater peace of mind about his future at the club.
