Both sides facing short-notice changes to fixture schedule
Arsenal‘s Premier League clash with Everton has been rescheduled to accommodate the Gunners’ Champions League last 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen.
Arsenal will visit Leverkusen on March 10 before hosting the Bundesliga side for the second leg on March 17th, with those fixtures coming either side of a home Premier League match against Everton on Sunday, March 15.
Now, however, the club have confirmed that that match will take place a day earlier, moving to the 5.30pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, March 14.
Manchester City, meanwhile, face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu before welcoming them to the Etihad on the same days, with their intervening Premier League fixture involving a trip to face West Ham at 12.30pm on Saturday, March 14.
The Premier League had already confirmed that both matches were set to be rearranged.
There were a few options for when that match could take place, though a packed Saturday schedule means they will share a kick-off time with Chelsea, who host Newcastle in the tea-time slot.
The Saturday schedule had City in the early kick-off, with three matches at 3pm.
Now, however, their visit to West Ham will become an 8pm kick-off under the lights at the London Stadium.
Arsenal vs Everton was due to be televised by Sky on Sunday and thus must remain in a broadcast slot, and Sky will still broadcast the rearranged fixture.
The same can be said of City’s fixture, which will continue to be broadcast on TNT Sports.
