Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping a close watch on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ibrahim Maza as the 20-year-old continues to attract growing Premier League interest.

Maza has made an encouraging start to the season for Leverkusen and has also strengthened his reputation at international level with Algeria. He scored and provided an assist in their 3-1 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying win over Zambia on Friday.

TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal and Tottenham have both watched Maza this season while assessing his development and potential availability. Chelsea, Manchester City and Aston Villa are also understood to remain attentive to the Algeria international’s progress.

There is no indication that Arsenal or Tottenham have made a formal offer at this stage, with both clubs understood to be monitoring rather than actively negotiating a transfer.

Maza’s contract with Leverkusen also gives the Bundesliga club a strong position should interest develop into concrete approaches.

For now, the competition around the midfielder is likely to increase if he maintains his current progress for club and country.
